INTERIOR DESIGN INSTITUTE

Cover photo 2.jpg

The interior design course at the Interior Design Institute is comprised of 12 modules, which each include an assignment. After mastering the basics, I was tasked to redesign the main floor of a home. I first changed the layout to fit the client's needs. Over the floor plan I mapped a lighting plan to be shared with the contractor. I then proposed color schemes and chose the best fit. Next, I worked out a finishing schedule and selected fabrics. For four rooms, I created sample boards with examples of products to provide a more accurate visual. In order to move forward with the kitchen design, I created an elevation plan of the main wall. Additionally, I created a material board to confirm that all the materials worked well together for the space. Working through a project module by module gave me a full-circle understanding of the design process, which I implement in all my projects.
