HOMEMADE
A lot of planning goes into the design for a kitchen. The client's previous layout was not functional and didn't maximize on space. In collaboration with the client, cabinet specialist, and contractor we came up with this layout that provided double the counter top and cabinet space. By knocking out a hallway closet, we were able to move the fridge over to create a more functional workspace. The client wanted dark cabinets, so I chose a medium brown arabesque tile backsplash, off white veined quartz counter tops, taupe wood-like porcelain tile and stainless steel appliances. With dark cabinets, it was important to balance the heavy amount of dark with light colors to achieve a warm, but bright space. By closing up the wall cut out over the table, we were left with great space to create a collage of décor. The small lemon accents add bright color that pairs harmoniously with the shades of green used in the space.
